Introduction to Meditation

I have been holding Meditation groups for years now and I hear the same thing in every group…”I can’t still my Mind!!” THIS IS NORMAL.

Meditation is a process that HAPPENS TO YOU…ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS RELAX THE BODY AND ALLOW THE PROCESS TO HAPPEN, JUST LIKE BEING AT THE MOVIES. THE MIND IS LIKE A SPOOL OF FILM AND WILL AUTOMATICALLY BECOME BUSY. BY STAYING WITH THE PROCESS IT WILL EVENTUALLY CALM ITSELF DOWN.

Whilst observing Life you may witness people saying they are stressed, tired, busy, unwell etc and this continues day after day. Our Mind is a powerful vehicle for manifesting, but can only do what we tell it to do. Time needs to be found to observe and let go of all these negative, disempowering statements along with the energy they hold. Then the true source of positive feeling can be felt and aligned to new thinking and focus.

As an Emotional and Spiritual Healer I witness their excitement as people wake up to their inner power. As a new awareness and focus reveals itself it is then possible to align the focus to the individual heart’s desire/wishes and then draw up a plan to identify how and when the Universe brings opportunities.

Life is a journey and sometimes it may take longer than we feel is right to manifest the Heart’s Desire, but this where trust and faith play their part. As the individual keeps the focus and meditates regularly it becomes easier to identify the reactions to the external environment. These reactions are a signal to go within and let go as this is the energy blocking the path forward.

For example: meditating on the anger towards an authority figure can uncover fear from childhood, inability to be assertive or feeling the victim. By allowing this past experience to leave it is easier to identify what was needed and take steps in the present for new thinking and actions as an equal adult.

Emotions are a necessary part of our human journey, but unfortunately we are not always taught how to identify or handle them. I like to explain emotions visually, as though when you were born you were filled with many beautiful coloured balls floating inside the body.

These balls filled with joy, love, freedom, peace, laughter and many other positive feelings are obvious to watch in a happy, playful child ….but as life delivered experiences of pain and hurt, felt as grey or black balls, the coloured ones were pushed down until rarely felt and for some even forgotten.

The purpose of my guided meditations is to release the grey/black balls (the pain and emotion) and allow the coloured ones (joy and happiness) to flow around the body again. You may find the Mind becomes very busy just as if a huge spool of movie film has begun to unwind with memories and pictures. As the feelings arise it is the beginning of the letting go (or emptying out process) of built up energy and emotion from those past experiences.

Remember, these experiences are just memories now and if the feeling or reaction is intense, it is not real….. It is the stored energy that needs to be unblocked to flow freely. There is no need to stay in the memory at all, instead bring the attention back to the Breath and notice where the feeling is actually stored in the physical body. It may be felt as heaviness, a pain or sensation. Connect with it by feeling its shape or depth, stay focused and breathe into it as though you are waiting to see what is underneath. By staying focused on the feeling and breathing, it is possible to relax the contraction of energy until it gradually moves, changes or dissolves.

As you feel the letting go happen new feelings will arise until gradually the positive feelings, peace and calmness, will be revealed. This new energy is what is needed to create new behaviours and actions for the future.

Letting go of blame and judgment of others is forgiveness.

As Spiritual Beings we agree to participate with other souls in this Script called Life…. to have experiences, make choices to learn and grow. Everyone has something to understand and change in their personal behavior. The important thing is to do our own healing first and as we let go of the past it is possible to feel more understanding and forgiveness. This frees the Heart to affect others positively.

The memories cannot hurt you now, they may feel painful, but by giving them some attention and creating some inner space it is possible to release them and find the Source of unconditional love underneath.

As an Emotional Healer I am often asked to assist with Absent Healing, so imagine, as you meditate that I have placed my healing hands on your heart centre and at the top of your head. Take a deep breath, relax and allow yourself to receive this healing energy.

The new feelings experienced are usually lightness, peace, clarity, inner strength and happiness. If at the end of this process these feelings are still not apparent, don’t feel disheartened, they are there, just a little deeper, covered by another layer of experience that needs to be felt and released. Or they may appear later when you least expect it.

It is important to consult a Medical Practitioner if symptoms persist and be open to trying new concepts like, Spiritual Healing, Reiki, Acupuncture, Massage and Yoga to assist with your inner journey. Keep reaching out for help if needed.

I would love to receive your feedback and am very happy to answer any questions you may have.
